Kardashian Kids

I have never really been into the Kardashian's style, but I recently looked up their kids line and I think it's pretty cute! I would imagine their Babies R Us kids line will go over better than their Sears women's line. I really like the neutrals with a touch of edge like the faux leather patch pants. Dan might not approve, but if we have a girl I could see myself buying a few pieces of the collection. They have a new boys line coming out too.  

Tortoise

I'm having a moment with tortoise shell right now. I'm itching for some new shades and loving both the Ray Ban Clubmasters and the Reilly from Warby Parker. I have always preferred tortoise shell for sunglasses because I think it looks nice on brunettes and goes with everything.  Beyond shades, how great is this clutch? And probably my favorite is the Anthro necklace. Love it!

Wish List (Tuesday)

It's not Wednesday, but I am certainly wishing! First things first, Kate Spade is having a surprise sale. Not a HUGE selection, but lots of cute options! Mommas, check out the baby bags! I really liked this bag for my laptop, but my work laptop is ginormous and wouldn't even fit!! Here are my favorites:

Other than Kate Spade bags, I have been eyeing some fun spring(ish) items too.  I need to go shopping! Good thing I have a birthday coming up, because I want SO many things. My birthday list is growing every day. That's what happens this time of year when the season changes, I always want all new things! I flat out told Dan (multiple times) I need new sunglasses, but I also want makeup, workout gear, sneakers, and everything else below. I still have a month to culminate a list, drop hints and purchase gifts for myself. I know I'm not the only one that does that.

The "ugly sweater" is back! I'm sure you've dug through your parents or grandparents closets to find something similar with sparkles on it for an ugly Christmas sweater party, but now these sweaters aren't considered ugly anymore. In fact, they are right on trend! If you are lucky you have a "vintage" one. But if you don't, they are pretty much everywhere right now and perfect for the holidays and cold winter! I'm especially fond of a few of these and hope to scoop one up before Christmas!

Wednesday Wishes: NYE Style

I am SOOO excited because we have New Years Eve plans this year!! The last few years we haven't had big plans, so I am thrilled to have our plan set early this year. We're going to a party, where cocktail attire is required and I'm thrilled. Yesterday I found THE most amazing dress ever! THIS dress is everything! Leather bodice with feather skirt. I couldn't be more in love. I have been eyeing feather dresses since my bachelorette party a few years ago. I'm obsessed. Also, how great is this candy looking clutch? Perfect.

As the title of this blog states, sadly this is only a wish. The price tag on this dress is a little pricey and not so much in my "wear it once" budget. Bummer. It IS gorgeous though isn't it?

Plaid Coat

I saw a girl at brunch on Sunday in the cutest plaid coat. I never knew I needed a plaid coat until I fell in love with hers. I've been thinking about it all week and I still can't find the one she had on. I have come to the conclusion that it's vintage (or just last season). I'm on the lookout now. Dining Table

We are in the market for a dining table. We really like the look of a reclaimed wood, farm house style table, but with the modern industrial look similar to the tables below from CB2 and Restoration Hardware. Ideally we would have a bench on one side and mismatched chairs for the ends and other side.

We have looked into the typical home stores (Crate and Barrel, CB2, West Elm, etc) but are also looking into having it custom made. There is something special about having a beautiful custom  (well) made dining table to keep for years.





I love this whole look! We have white vintage tulip chairs that were my grandparents, very similar to these yellow ones.

Fall Flats

Right now is a tricky time for footwear. The last few weekends I have been stumped on what to wear to casual events. It's chilly in the morning but when the sun comes out it's hot in the afternoons. It feels a little too soon (and hot) to wear boots with jeans, yet too summery for sandals. Flats, flats are the answer. I have tons of flats, but never wear them. Now is the perfect time though. Emerald

2014 Pantone color was the year was announced recently (Dazzling Blue), which got me thinking that I really haven't worn much of 2013 Pantone color of the year (Emerald). Fall is a great time to wear this color and of course going into the holidays as well. I think I'll start with the ankle pants from Target but I really love all the other pieces here as well.

Houndstooth

I've been seeing a lot of houndstooth over the last few days and this morning J. Crew Factory's New Arrivals had several items in the print as well. Houndstooth is a classic print in black and white, but I really like the mix of colors as well. Houndstooth is a great print for fall and winter and really a staple to keep in your closet for years. I particularly like the sweater above and can see it layered up for work.

Burgundy Basics

Call it what you want to call it, wine, maroon, Bordeaux, burgundy is a hot color this fall! The deep red color goes with more than you think! I particularly like it with hot pink, denim, leopard, or camel. Not all together of course (but maybe). This post has some great ideas!  I've had my eye on this wool J.Crew Factory skirt for some time. I also really like the Loft ankle pants and think everything below would be great basics for your fall work wardrobe.

Wednesday Wish list

By no means do I need anything on this list. As a matter of fact I think I will probably ground myself from shopping for a least a few weeks or even this whole month. Back to budget after our recent trip. Until fall, I don't need to add anything to my closet. Let's see how long that statement lasts.

 

 

1. Really into leather sleeves and considering making a dress with them! I like the casual(ness) of this tee. Also it's 20 bucks!

2. I think this is my favorite color on my summer skin tone.  I like the neckline of this dress too.

3. I've decided a white peplum is a must have staple in my closet. I love this Victoria Beckham one, but not the price. I could probably make this, but don't really have the time.

4. Scallops and Sequins

5-6. I'm lusting over leather shorts right now. Elastic waistband, woohoo!

7. A girl can dream, can't she? I'll take one in every color.

8. Fur fold over. so pretty.

 

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Picks

It's Nordstrom sale time! I'm definitely not ready for the fall weather, as I swear summer just began, but I do like a lot of the fall clothes in this sale! I reeeeeeallly want the dress with the leather sleeves. Love it! What are you scooping up?
